RTI forces Rajeev Mehta to resign from state football association

Dehradun: Rajeev Mehta has resigned from president’s post of Uttarakhand State Football Association. A series of RTI filed by Dehradunfootball.com, on Mehta alleging him of violating Indian Olympic Association (IOA) norms on one-man, one post, forced the current IOA secretary general to flee. Now Sultan Ahmed is the acting president of the state football association (Pl see: https://www.the-aiff.com/state-associations-details.htm?id=40) According to the Indian Olympic Association constitution (section X, holding of Office), “No office-bearer of a National Sports Federation can be office bearer of any other National Sports Federation, affiliated to Indian Olympic Association. Similarly, no office-bearer of State/Union Territory Olympic Association can be office bearer of any other State/Union Territory Olympic Association, affiliated to the Indian Olympic Association.”
