CIC directs AIFF to furnish information on Uttarakhand football within 3 weeks

Dehradun: The Central Information Commission (New Delhi) has expressed sadness over the poor handling of an RTI application by the All India Football Federation (AIFF). The RTI is regarding the documents submitted by the Uttarakhand Football Association for obtaining affiliation from the AIFF and also the grants received so far development of soccer in the hill state. Acting on a complain made by www.DehradunFootball.com’s co-founder Raju Gusain, the Central Information Commission has directed the All India football Federation to provide documents and information about Uttarakhand State Football Association to the applicant within three weeks. The AIFF was lingering providing the mentioned information under RTI since November last year.

Dehradun, February 19: Young and talented footballer Raja Rawat has been selected for the All-India Football Federation’s (AIFF) elite under-19 academy. Raja was among the 26 boys selected for the academy after a month-long camp in Goa recently. A cadet of the Dehradun-based Sports Hostel and a class XII student of the DAV Inter-College, Raja is considered one of the most talented footballers in the Indian junior football in the current scenario. Though the location for the AIFF’s u-19 academy is yet to be finalised, it is likely that it will be Pune, Goa or Noida. It is all set to function from April. ...

Dehradun: The 67th Santosh Trophy will kick off in UP next month and Uttarakhand is in a tough group in the tournament. Uttarakhand is placed in cluster D with Sikkim, Madhya Pradesh, Tripura and Pondicherry. One team from the cluster will move to the quarter final league. Considering the poor preparations, there is little hope of Uttarakhand putting up any impressive performance.
