SANTOSH TROPHY: Uttarakhand’s one decade of dismal performance

Dehradun: The Uttarakhand State Football Association should take blame for the dismal run of Uttarakhand in the Santosh Trophy. This year too , Uttarakhand lost both of its group matches to get eliminated from the championship. After registering a 4-2 lose against Rajasthan in its opening match, the state team suffered a humiliating 6-0 defeat against Mizoram on 16 May to end on the bottom of Cluster 6.

Dehradun: Uttarakhand suffered a shocking 2-4 lose against Rajasthan in its opening match of the 66th National Football Championship in Cuttuck today. The experiment of the Uttarakhand Football Association of sending the state team in the tournament without any match practice failed. And Uttarakhand lost a match which it should have won due to poor preparation....

Uttarakhand will launch its campaign in the 66th National Football Championship for Santosh Trophy in Cuttuck today. Uttarakhand will play against Rajasthan. The young Uttarakhand side looks confident of putting up a good show. Rajasthan is not a strong side and the hopes of Uttarakhand depends of the performance of policemen in the tie. Eleven cops have got selected in the state team this time. Striker Deepak Kandari, attacking midfielder Saurav Rawat and midfielder Amit Bisht will be the star attraction of the Uttarakhand team. The team was selcted on the basis of a 15-day camp in Uttarkashi. But, football experts feel that the side lacks match exposure as only training and coaching took place in Uttarkashi....
