Dehradun: Legendary Indian footballer Baichung Bhutia will establish one of his football schools in Dehradun. The international footballer recently visited the city. In order to promote football in India Bhutia founded Baichung Bhutia Football School in Delhi in October 2010. These schools help to discover new talent and hone up the technique and skills of these young players.
One such school will be set up very soon at Raja Rammohan Roy Academy in Dehradun. Coaching for Football in this Baichung Bhutia Football School will be available to both boys and girls from the age of 5-18 years. He hoped that the setting of Baichung Bhutia Football School will help the young soccer players of Dehradun District to reach up to higher levels and one day may be played for the Indian team.
The great Indian striker visited Raja Rammohan Roy Academy on 15th February 2014. Baichung addressed the students in the Assembly Hall and told them how he started playing at the school level in Inter School matches and Subroto Cup which led him to take football as a career and how he went on to became an International player. ' Principal Mr. S. Benjamin welcomed the football great. Also p[resent on the occasion were, Manager Dr. S.K. Mukherjee, Vice Principal Dr (Mrs) Preeti Saxena and Headmistress Mrs. P. Sitaram.
