Dehradun is home to over two dozen football clubs. The Vijay Cantt Sporting Club is the oldest. The club was established in the name of Vijay Khatri. It was a noble move to pay tribute to a famous goalkeeper of his time. Akranta Club, DMK and Uttarakhand Police are the three new clubs that have made impressive progress in the recent times.
